I started modelling in South Africa and worked across Asia and Europe for most of a decade — Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, India, Milan, Hamburg, Amsterdam. I was inside the rooms where casting decisions got made. I understood, from direct experience, what made a creative easy to hire and what made an equally talented one easy to overlook. That understanding isn't something you research. It comes from being there, repeatedly, over time.
A few years before Booked., I tried to build something to help creatives with their digital presence. It didn't work — not because the problem wasn't real, but because I was approaching it like a generalist. The offer wasn't specific enough to be credible. I didn't yet have the technical capability to build what the problem actually required. And I hadn't yet understood that the gap I was trying to address needed to be solved from the inside of the industry, not around it.
What Booked. is built on
Two things that are hard to find together: genuine fashion industry experience, and the practical ability to build what a creative presence actually requires. Most people who build tools for creatives have one. Booked. has both — and the combination is what makes it work.
On one side: a decade of first-hand market knowledge across South Africa, Asia, and Europe — an understanding of how bookings actually happen, and the instinct for what a casting director or brand needs to see before they make the call. On the other: the technical knowledge to build audits, sites, and tools that actually solve the problems that knowledge surfaces.
The work is always determined by what you actually need — not a fixed menu. A website if it's a website. An audit if it's an audit. A build around a revenue idea if that's what's missing. I look at where you are and build what needs to exist so the right people find you.
The markets I work in
South Africa is home base. The rest of the work happened across Asia and Europe — Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, India, Milan, Hamburg, Amsterdam. Not visited. Worked. What that teaches you — how a casting director in Seoul thinks differently from one in Cape Town, what signals credibility in Milan versus what signals it in Johannesburg — isn't something you can read about. It comes from being inside it, repeatedly, over time.
Currently in Bali, moving to Shanghai shortly. If you're a creative working in any of these markets — or building toward them — there's a shared frame of reference here that most people offering this kind of work simply don't have.
Who this is for
Working fashion creatives — photographers, stylists, creative directors, art directors — who know their work is strong but whose presence doesn't reflect that yet. Creatives who've been meaning to fix their website for two years. Creatives who keep getting called for the wrong kind of work. Creatives who have a revenue idea they haven't been able to build out.
